On Saturday, March 5, 2016 to celebrate National Women’s Month, Writers Room will host a special day-long drawing and writing workshop. Jacklynn Niemiec (Architecture) and Valerie Fox (English) will lead this workshop in partnership with Writers Room, the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, and the National Liberty Museum.
Through active drawing and creative writing, the workshop seeks to map the people and places that have played a transformational role on our lives. We will reflect on the connections of people and places in their own lives and find ways of visualizing and honoring those connections.
Participants, including students and community members, will first meet at 10AM at Dornsife for a morning of (coffee-fueled) creativity. We’ll then have lunch together and proceed to the National Liberty Museum (transportation provided) where select pieces from the workshop will be displayed in an exhibit at the museum.
Seats for Portraits Through Time are limited, so please RSVP (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, February 26, 2016.
